D. B. Johnson has been a freelance illustrator for many years and has done editorial cartoons, comic strips, and conceptual illustrations for magazines and newspapers around the country. He is the author/illustrator of twelve children's picture books, including Henry Hikes to Fitchburg, a New York Times Best Illustrated Book and winner of numerous awards, including the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award for Picture Books, the Ezra Jack Keats New Writer Award, and a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators. Mr. Johnson lives in New Hampshire.
